Stick of Butter Rice is a delicious side dish recipe that is made with only 4 ingredients. This rice is easy to make and will soon be a family favorite recipe.
In a medium saucepan, combine the rice and water. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Simmer the rice for 18-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it stand, covered, for an additional 5 minutes to allow the rice to steam and fluff up.
While the rice is cooking, cut the stick of butter into small cubes.
After the rice has finished steaming, uncover the saucepan and add the cubed butter and onion soup mix to the hot rice.
Using a fork, gently stir and fluff the rice, allowing the butter to melt and the onion soup mix to distribute evenly throughout the rice.
Once the butter is fully melted and the rice is well mixed, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
Notes
I recommend using long grain rice for its fluffiness and non-stickiness. It will absorb the flavors better.
