Variations Ideas
- Tortilla – Feel free to use different types of tortillas. You can even use Homemade Tortillas or corn tortillas.
- Spices – You can easily add in different spices with the ground cinnamon. We have added in nutmeg and pumpkin spice for added flavor.
How to Make Homemade Cinnamon Chips
- Step 1 – First, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 – Next, mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
Step 3 – Brush the melted butter onto one side of each of the flour tortillas and sprinkle with the cinnamon and granulated sugar mixture.
Step 4 – Then cut each tortilla into 8 wedges. I used a pizza cutter to do this. I cut them in half and then cut each half into 4 equal pieces.
Step 5 – Place the tortilla pieces onto a baking sheet and cook for 8-10 minutes until they are crispy. Serve warm and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
- Cutting Tortilla – Try your best to cut the tortillas in about the same size. This helps them to cook evenly. Use a pizza cutter or a knife to cut the tortilla.
- Butter the Tortilla – Make sure to completely cover the tortilla with melted butter so the cinnamon and sugar mixture sticks.
- Air Fryer – These cinnamon chips can even be made in the air fryer. Place the prepared tortilla in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 3-4 minutes at 360 degrees. There is no need to spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
