Homemade bread makes the perfect addition for any occasion. We love to serve it as a breakfast but also makes the perfect snack recipe. This Strawberry Banana Bread is one of my families favorite because it combines two of our favorite fruits to make the softest bread.

The combination of strawberry and banana is perfect and mixing the two in a homemade bread recipe, makes for a crowd favorite.

Ingredients 

Ingredients - Flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar, butter, sour cream, bananas, eggs, vanilla extract, strawberries
  • All Purpose Flour – Measure flour accurately with a measuring cup
  • Baking Soda and Baking Powder – This helps to keep the bread fluffy
  • Granulated Sugar – Gives the bread the perfect amount of sweetness
  • Butter – Use softened unsalted butter

How to Make Strawberry Banana Bread

  • Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9X5 inch loaf pan with a non-stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2 – In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.  Set aside.

Step 3 – In a separate bowl with a stand up mixer or hand held mixer, beat together the butter and sugar until the mixer is light and fluffy.

Step 4 – Add in the sour cream, eggs, one at a time, until combined. Then mix in the vanilla extract.

Step 5 – Mash up the ripe bananas and add them to the mixture. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.  Add in strawberry mixture.

Step 6 – Pour the batter in the prepared loaf pan.  Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.

  • Step 7 – Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then turn the bread out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Step 8 – Once the bread has cooled, it’s ready to slice, serve and enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • Baking Bread – Watch the bread closely toward the end of the cook time. If the top of the bread is browning too quickly, tent the top of the pan with foil to prevent it from getting too browned. Cooking time will vary.
  • Combining Ingredients – When combining ingredients, make sure to not overmix the batter. This may cause the texture of the bread to change.
  • Loaf Pan – Before pouring the batter into the loaf pan, make sure to spray with cooking spray. We have even lined the pan with parchment paper so it is easy to remove and slice.
  • Bananas – Make sure to use ripe bananas.

Instructions

  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then turn the bread out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once the bread has cooled, it’s ready to slice, serve and enjoy!
