Copycat Sonic Cherry Limeade Recipe:

Cherry Limeade is one of my favorite drink to get at Sonic. It has the perfect blend of sweetness and it tastes so delicious. Combining the fresh squeezed lime juice with the cherry and pebble ice makes one of my favorite drink recipes.

With this easy copycat recipe, I can make it at home. I can easily serve at our BBQs, pool parties or for an after school treat. I like to serve in a large pitcher so everyone can easily pour their own.

We love to serve simple, refreshing drinks anytime we have friends over and this one is always serve. Cool off this summer at home with a copycat Cherry Limeade Drink.

What is in Cherry Limeade?

This Cherry Limeade is made with a carbonation drink such as 7 up or Sprint. These caffeine free lemon-lime soda give the cherry limeade the perfect base. Add in cherry juice from the Maraschino Cherries or cherry syrup to create a delicious and refreshing drink.

We like to garnish the drink with fresh squeeze lime juice and cherries.

Ingredients:

7UP (or Sprite)
Maraschino Syrup
Maraschino Cherries
Lime Wedges
Ice

How to Make Copycat Sonic Cherry Limeade:

Step 1 – Add Ice and Syrup – Add ice to a glass. Add the maraschino syrup to the glass.
Step 2 – Squeeze Lime – Squeeze the lime slices into the glass and add in the 2 cherries.
Step 3 – Top with Lime flavor soda – Pour the 7UP on top and gently stir with a straw if needed.
Step 4 – Serve and Enjoy – Serve immediately and enjoy!

Recipe Tips for Cherry Limeade Sonic Drink:

Cherry Syrup – You can easily buy cherry syrup to make this recipe. But the juice from the maraschino cherry jar works great too.
Serving a Large party – If you are making this for a large party. Buy liters lemon-lime soda to make this drink in the pitcher.

Does Cherry Limeade from Sonic have Sprite?

Yes, the cherry limeade that you get from Sonic is made with Sprite or 7up.

How to Serve Cherry Limeade:

Cherry Limeade can easily be made as an individual drink or serve to a party. I like to get fun clear mason jars to serve our favorite drink in. Complete with a bright pink straws to add to the drink.

Make it in a Glass Pitcher – You can even make this drink in a large pitcher and pour over ice. We usually add in a cup cherry juice to make it flavorful.
Make Cherry Limeade Slushie – We love slushies with this drink. Make your drink in a glass mason jar and place in the freezer. It will take about an hour and the results are a delicious slushie.
Popsicles – If you have some popsicle molds, pour the ingredients into the molds. Allow the popsicles to freeze overnight. Surprise the kids with an afternoon treat.

Can you Make it Ahead of Time?

This cherry limeade drink is best to serve on the day you make it. If made to far in advance the carbonation will flatten. It is best to use can 7 up or Sprite to make individual servings.

Add Vodka or Rum to Make an Adult Drink:

This Cherry Limeade drink can easily be made into an adult drink. Mix in the amount of alcohol you prefer. Then add in the cherry limeade ingredients. The combination of the cherry and lime with the alcohol make it the perfect drink.

Substitutions and Additions:

Ice – We love using Sonic ice in this recipe. Crushed ice or pellet ice is the perfect ice to use to make this copycat recipe.
Lemon Lime Soda – 7UP or Sprite would work great for this recipe. You can also get a frozen limeade concentrate from the freezer section to add to the lime flavor.
Syrup – We used Maraschino Simple Syrup to make this drink. But you can use a cherry syrup that can easily be purchased at the grocery store.

How to Store Leftovers:

This perfect balance sonic copycat drink is best served fresh. But if you have leftover, you can easily store in the fridge. Keep in my while the leftovers are in storage the carbonation can flatten.
