- Combining Sauce Ingredients – Before pouring the gravy mixture over the meatballs, make sure to combine in a bowl first. This makes sure everything is combined evenly.
How to Serve
We love to serve it with egg noodles but any type of pasta you have on hand will be delicious. This meal is also good with asparagus or green beans. This oven roasted asparagus is a family favorite and it is very simple and quick to make.
Another idea we love is to serve over mashed potatoes. I love to spoon the gravy over the mashed potatoes for an amazing meal.
It’s also delicious with rice. Learn how to freeze rice and you can make this meal even easier.
I love to grab the rice from the freezer in the morning and when we come home it is all ready to reheat and serve. We do this for lots of meals and it helps on busy weeknights.

I have try some of the recipes you cooked and they’re just great in slowcooker, and the tips are spot on thank you
Making it now, I added chopped onions and minced garlic instead of the powder and added Italian seasoning. Hopefully it will taste good. Serving with egg noodles and garlic toast.
I made a double batch for a potluck recently. Everyone loved them. I was a little concerned about them being too salty like some other person commented, so I did use a 50% reduced sodium beef broth. It was made by College Inn. I used Mama Lucina homestyle meatballs. I really liked the flavor but I think the next time I might add just a little more A1 or add a little bit of Worcestershire sauce to give them just a little more kick for my own personal taste. Otherwise, I think they were great. I am actually making them again this weekend. Thanks for the recipe.
Yes you can use another “cream of” soup. It will taste slightly different, but it will still be delicious.
Hubby does not do mushrooms! Is there another type of cream soup that can be substituted?
looks delicious I can’t wait to try it!
I haven’t but I think this would be very easy to make in the Instant pot.
Have you tried this in the instant pot?
We loved the overall flavor of this dish, but it was way too salty, even though we followed the recipe exactly. Any ideas for making it less salty but not altering the taste? Thanks!
i love regular Salisbury steak, this recipe just made it better
My middle child loves Salisbury steak so I knew I had to try this one out. It did not disappoint ?
great dish. so flavorful. better than any Salisbury meatballs out there.
I love this recipe. I make several of these at a time by putting all the ingredients in freezer bags and freezing them. I know on busy nights I can quickly grab one from the freezer that morning and throw it in the crockpot when I need a super easy meal.
Huge hit with the family, and so easy on me. And that gravy! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Thanks for making life a little easier on this very busy woman!!
You use mix in sour cream instead but I wouldn’t put the sour cream in the crock pot at the beginning as it may curdle. I would stir in the sour cream for the last 30 minutes of the cook time. Thanks!
Could something other than cream of mushroom soup be used?
Thanks for sharing! I’m so glad that your family and you enjoyed it!
Cooked this last night for my family of 4. Everyone liked it, even my Salisbury steak hating oldest son. There was enough left for lunch today for 3 of us. Followed this exactly. My husband said next time he wants to try it with rice. Thanks so much for an awesome meal that cooked while we worked!
The recipe serves 6 so should work great for your family. I hope you enjoy it!

I usually use prepackaged homestyle meatballs for this recipe.
