How to Make French Onion Pot Roast in the Slow Cooker

Step 1 – Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper.

Step 5 – Top with the sliced onions, garlic and seasonings.

  • Cooking Time – Cooking time will vary depending on your slow cooker and how large your roast is. We like to cook on low but you can also cook on HIGH for 5-6 hours instead.
  • Gravy – We love to make a delicious gravy to serve over the top of the roast and mashed potatoes when serving. To make a thicker gravy whisk in cornstarch slurry. We like to heat the liquid on the stovetop then easily serve with the roast.
