Ingredients

Ingredients - Ripe Bananas, flour, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda, salt, walnuts
  • Bananas – Use Ripe Bananas for the best flavor
  • All Purpose Flour – Make it with Whole Wheat Flour
  • Butter – We used unsalted butter
  • Walnuts – The nuts in this recipe are optional.  You can easily leave them out or use a different type of nut if you prefer.

How to Make Banana Bread in the Slow Cooker

Parchment Paper Lined Slow Cooker

Step 1 – Line a crock pot thoroughly with parchment paper and spray the paper with a non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2 – Peel the bananas and place them in a large mixing bowl. Mash the bananas.

Step 3 – Stir in melted butter, egg, sugar, vanilla, baking soda, and salt. Stir well.

Step 4 – Gently stir in the flour until just combined.

Step 5 – Stir in 1 cup of the chopped walnuts.

Step 6 – Pour the batter into the prepared crock pot and spread it out into an even layer.

Step 7 – Sprinkle the remaining walnuts on top.

Step 8 – Carefully place a clean kitchen towel over the crock pot and then place the lid on the crock pot.  

  • Step 9 – Cook on high for 2-4 hours. Start checking the bread after it has been cooking for 2 hours.  
  • Step 10 – The bread is done with a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean. 
  • Step 11 – Once the bread is cooked through, use the edges of the parchment paper to carefully remove the bread from the crock pot. 
  • Step 12 – Let the bread cook slightly on the parchment paper. 
  • Step 13 – Then the bread is ready to slice, serve and enjoy!

  • Cooking Time – Each crock pot cooks differently. Start checking the bread after it has been cooking for 2 hours and then check every 30 minutes until the bread is cooked through. 
  • Removing Bread – Lining the slow cooker with parchment paper, allows you to easily remove the bread from the slow cooker.
  • Rest Bread – After remove bread from the slow cooker, allow it to cool and rest. Then it is ready to slice and enjoy.
