How to Make Salsa Verde Chicken

  • Step 1 – First, go ahead and preheat your oven. Now that you have that taken care of, let’s make this super tasty chicken.
  • Step 2 – Second, you will need a 9×13 pan and I like to use cooking spray. This helps to make clean up easier.
  • Step 3 – Next, put the chicken in the pan and pour the salsa all over the chicken. Make sure the chicken is totally covered.

  • Step 5 – Finally, just bake the chicken. It takes less than 30 minutes and you get the most tender and flavor packed chicken.

  • Step 6 – Now, this last step is optional but totally worth it. I like to top the chicken with cheese and cilantro once it is finished cooking.
  • Step 7 – Lastly, broil for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and oh my! What a fabulous dinner you have.
  • Step 8 – Remove chicken and enjoy. It is so good.

Expert Tips

  • Chicken – We recommend baking chicken that about the same size so they cook evenly. You may need to pound the chicken so that it is about the same size.
  • Cheese – We like using shredded cheese that is shredded from hunk cheese. Pre-shredded cheese has added ingredients and may not melt or taste as well as fresh cheese.
  • Shredded Chicken – You can serve chicken in whole pieces or you can shred the chicken with two forks. You can also shred chicken with a hand mixer or a stand mixer.
