How to Make Strawberry Cake

  • Step 1 – First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2 – Use a large mixing bowl to combine the strawberry cake mix and sprite together. Don’t follow the cake mix instructions or add any of the other ingredients.

Step 3 – We used a bundt cake pan for this recipe. Just spray the pan with cooking spray and pour the batter inside.

Step 4 – Finally, bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 5 – While the cake cools, make the glaze for the cake. It is optional but so tasty.

How to Make Glaze for Strawberry Soda Cake

  • Step 1 – First, combine the powdered sugar and milk in a bowl. Whisk everything together until well combined.
  • Step 2 – If the glaze is too runny, add more powdered sugar until it is the desire consistency.
  • Step 3 – Finally, drizzle all of that yummy glaze all over the cake.

Recipe Tips

  • Prepare Baking Dish – Before pouring the cake batter in the Bundt pan, make sure to spray with cooking spray. Spray the sides and bottom of the plan so the cake is easy to remove.
  • Cake Mix Ingredients – You will not use any additional ingredients that the cake mix calls for.

How do you Know when Cake is Finished Baking?

Cooking time will vary depending on your oven and the baking dish you use. We baked our cake in about 20 minutes. You will know that your cake is done when the edges our golden brown. You can also insert toothpick in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, then the cake is finished baking.

How to Store Leftover Strawberry Cake

Store leftover cake in an airtight container or covered on cake pan with plastic wrap. Cake is great stored at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.

Ingredients

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix (15 oz cake mix)
  • 1 can sprite (12 oz can)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a mixing bowl mix together the strawberry cake mix and the can of Sprite. Do not follow the directions on the box and do not add any other ingredients.
  • Mix well with a hand blender until smooth.
  • Spray a bundt cake pan with non stick spray, and pour batter into the pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cake begins to brown.
  • Allow to cool completely for 5 minutes in the pan and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Serve immediately or drizzle with the optional icing glaze.

Recipe Notes

I topped this cake with an easy powder sugar glazed made by mixing 1 cup of powder sugar with 2 Tbsp of Milk, but this cake with also be great with your favorite type of frosting.

    Definitely a 5 star rating. My son had egg allergies and this was one he could he and one of our favorites. I think they’re more moist than regular cake recipe. We also did orange pop with yellow cake. Yum.
