How to Make Pumpkin Waffles
- Step 1 – Preheat a waffle iron on medium-high heat. You may need to spray with cooking spray to prevent the waffles from sticking.
Step 2 – Whisk together dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and pumpkin pie spice. Set aside.
Step 3 – Then gradually stir together all wet ingredients in a separate bowl: melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla and pure pumpkin. Mix with a stand mixer or by hand.
Step 4 – Once wet ingredients are thoroughly mixed, slowly add in dry ingredients, stirring until incorporated. Mix until just combined and be careful not to over mix the batter. The batter will be lumpy.
Step 5 – Pour approximately ⅓ cup of batter into the waffle maker starting at the center and gradually working toward the outside filling up the wells in the waffle maker.
- Step 6 – Close the lid on the waffle maker and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp (approximately 4 minutes).
- Step 7 – Carefully remove the waffle from the waffle maker to a separate plate.
- Step 8 – Repeat this process until all of the batter is used.
- Step 9 – Serve warm topped with butter and syrup. Enjoy!
Expert Tips
- Waffle Batter – The batter amount needed varies based on your waffle maker. We like using a measuring cup to scoop the batter to pour onto the waffle maker.
- Serving Size – This recipe will make approximately 10 standard sized waffles or 5 large waffles.
- Cooking Waffles – It will depend on your waffle maker. Some waffle makers have a light that tells you when your waffle is ready. If you prefer a crispier waffler, you may need to leave it longer.
