How to Make Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate
Step 1 – In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, cream, and pumpkin puree over medium heat.
Step 2 – Add cocoa powder, whisking until fully incorporated and no lumps remain.
Step 3 – Add chopped dark chocolate, brown sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
Step 4 – Whisk continuously until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth and hot, about 5-7 minutes. Do not let it boil. Remove from heat and pour into mugs. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, if desired.
