Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to Rinse Rice Before Cooking?

Some people recommend rinsing the rice prior to cooking it on the stovetop.  I have tried both ways and cannot tell the difference, so I do not rinse to save time in the kitchen.  If you do choose to rinse your rice prior to cooking it, then reduce the water by 2 Tablespoons as the rice will absorb some of the water when you’re rinsing it. Rinse in a fine mesh strainer if you prefer to remove the starch.

What is the Ratio of Water to Jasmine Rice?

When cooking Jasmine rice you will use 1 ¼ cup of water to 1 cup of uncooked Jasmin rice.

How do you Enhance the Flavor of Jasmine Rice?

You can cook the the rice in broth instead of water which adds so much flavor. After cooking the rice, stir in butter, garlic salt or fresh herbs for even more flavor.

How to Store Leftover Jasmine Rice

Store the leftover rice in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The leftovers will last about 4-5 days.

How to Reheat Leftovers

Reheat the leftovers in the microwave for a delicious side dish to many recipes.
