How to Pick a Bell Pepper
We usually pick our bell peppers at the grocery store. I look for bell peppers that are without blemishes, scraps, wrinkles and soft spots.
How to Cut Bell Pepper into Slices
- Step 1 – Lay the Bell Pepper on it’s side on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut off the top (stem side) and bottom of the bell pepper.
Step 2 – Place the pepper on the cutting board cut side down and cut the pepper pepper opened with a vertical slice down the side of the bell pepper.
Step 3 – Use your knife to carefully remove the inside and the membranes on the bell pepper.
Step 4 – Lay the pepper on the cutting board, skin side down. Cut the bell pepper into 3 even pieces.
Step 5 – Use your knife to cut each piece into thin slices. Then the peppers are ready to use in your favorite recipes.
How to Cut Bell Pepper into Rings
Step 1 – Lay the Bell Pepper on it’s side on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut off the top stem end.
Step 2 – Then remove the bottom of the pepper.
Step 3 – Use your knife to remove the cord and membranes from the inside of the pepper.
Step 4 – Lay the pepper on its side on the cutting and slice into thin rings.
How to Cut Bell Pepper into Sticks
Step 1 – Lay the Bell Pepper on it’s side on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut off the top (stem side).
Step 2 – Then remove the bottom of the bell pepper.
Step 3 – Place the pepper on the cutting board cut side down and slice each side of the bell pepper off without cutting into the core or membrane.
Step 4 – Place each section on the cutting board skin side down. Then cut each section into approximately ½ inch thick sticks.
How to Dice a Bell Pepper
Step 1 – Lay the Bell Pepper on it’s side on a cutting board. Use a sharp paring knife to cut off the top (stem side). Then remove the bottom of the bell pepper.
Step 2 – Place the pepper on the cutting board cut side down and slice each side of the bell pepper off without cutting into the core or white membrane.
Step 3 – Place each section on the cutting board skin side down. Then cut each section into thin sticks.
Step 4 – The cut into thin strips into small dices to make diced bell peppers.

How to cut Peppers for Stuffed Peppers
Option 1
Step 1 – Lay the Bell Pepper on it’s side on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut off the top (stem side).
Step 2 – Use a small knife to remove the core, membranes and seeds from the inside of the bell pepper. You can turn the pepper over and gently shake it to remove any excess seeds from the peppers.
Option 2
Step 1 – Lay the pepper stem up on the cutting board and cut the pepper in half (leave the steam on).
Step 2 – Use a small knife to remove the core, membranes and seeds from both sides of the bell pepper.

- Prepare Ahead of Time – Cut down on prep time when making eggs, omelets and more. Bell peppers are easy to store and I use them more when they are already prepare.
