Bell Peppers is my favorite kind of vegetables because it can be used in so many ways. These steps will show you have to slice, cut into rings, cut into sticks, dice and quarter a bell pepper.

How to Pick a Bell Pepper

We usually pick our bell peppers at the grocery store. I look for bell peppers that are without blemishes, scraps, wrinkles and soft spots.

How to Cut Bell Pepper into Slices

  • Step 1 – Lay the Bell Pepper on it’s side on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut off the top (stem side) and bottom of the bell pepper.

Step 2 – Place the pepper on the cutting board cut side down and cut the pepper pepper opened with a vertical slice down the side of the bell pepper.

Step 3 – Use your knife to carefully remove the inside and the membranes on the bell pepper.

Step 4 – Lay the pepper on the cutting board, skin side down. Cut the bell pepper into 3 even pieces.

Step 5 – Use your knife to cut each piece into thin slices. Then the peppers are ready to use in your favorite recipes.

How to Cut Bell Pepper into Rings

Step 1 – Lay the Bell Pepper on it’s side on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut off the top stem end.

How to Cut Bell Pepper into Sticks

How to Dice a Bell Pepper

How to Quarter a Bell Pepper

Step 1 – Lay the Bell Pepper on it’s side on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut off the top (stem side).

How to cut Peppers for Stuffed Peppers

Option 1

Step 2 – Use a small knife to remove the core, membranes and seeds from the inside of the bell pepper. You can turn the pepper over and gently shake it to remove any excess seeds from the peppers.

Option 2

Cutting the red bell pepper in half

Step 1 – Lay the pepper stem up on the cutting board and cut the pepper in half (leave the steam on).

We recommend to remove the seeds and stems from the bell peppers anyway that you cook them. If you do not remove the seeds, then they may float in liquid and may not be good in some recipes.

How to Store Leftover Chopped Bell Peppers

Store the leftovers in an airtight container or ziplock bag with a paper towel down layered at the bottom of the container. The peppers will last about a week if they are stored properly.
