Seasoning Variations

Since you are making this marinade from scratch you can easily add in fresh herbs or other types of seasoning. We like to add in ¼ teaspoon of red pepper flakes for a kick of spice.

Fresh parsley, thyme, basil and oregano are great additions or substitutes for the Italian seasoning. We also have added in a tablespoon of honey for a hint of sweetness.

Recipe Tips

  • Wooden Skewers – If you are grilling these shrimp on wooded skewers make sure to soak them in water before threading the shrimp on. This will prevent the skewers from burning while on the grill.
  • Marinating Shrimp – We recommend marinating the shrimp for at least an hour before cooking. This will give the shrimp the best flavor.
  • Cooking Shrimp –Cooking time will vary when cooking shrimp. If you prefer you can cook your shrimp directly on the grill grates or grill pan. You can even cook on a sheet pan lined with foil in the oven under the broil. We recommend flipping shrimp every 2 minutes to ensure that the shrimp is fully cooked.
