Chocolate covered Oreos mold:
We used one of these cookie/candy molds on Amazon. They are so hand.
Ingredients for emoji chocolate covered oreos:
- Cookie/candy mold
- 12 Oreo cookies
- 1 cup Wilton yellow chocolate candy melts (Almond bark also works.)
- Red cookie decorator icing
- Black cookie decorator icing
How to make chocolate covered Oreos to look like emojis:
1. Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper and set aside.
2. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, microwave the yellow chocolate melts for 45 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir. Continue to microwave in 10 second increments until melted and smooth.
3. Fill each cookie mold with 2 tablespoons of the melted yellow chocolate.
4. Place an Oreo cookie on top and then spoon additional melted chocolate over the Oreos, up to the top of each mold.
5. Chill for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
6. Once chilled, gently pop each cookie out of the mold and place on the lined cookie sheet.
7. With the red decorator icing, pipe 2 hearts for the eyes of each emoji cookie.
8. With the black decorator icing, pipe a smile on each cookie.
ENJOY!!
*Store in a single layer, in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. I like to use parchment paper.
Designs to use:
I used the Heart Eyes Unicode Characters for these chocolate emoji cookies because they were for a Valentine’s Day party.
However, you can easily make your favorite type of emoji characters or a variations of emojis out of these cookies. I think the traditional smile face and laughing face would be adorable on these cookies.
Variation Ideas:
- You can use white chocolate chips instead of candy melts if you need to. Just dye the melted chocolate before creating the cookies.
- Cover any type of cookies with the chocolate or you can even make a chocolate bar emoji by coating your favorite type of candy.
