What is Egg Fried Rice?

Egg Fried Rice is similar to regular fried rice but is made with scrambled egg as the main ingredient. It is cooked over high heat and taste amazing.

You can easily add in your favorite meats, vegetables or other ingredients to make it your own. It is a great recipe if you have leftover rice.

How to Make Egg Fried Rice

Step 1 – In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Pour in the beaten eggs and cook, stirring gently, until the eggs are scramble and set. Remove the scrambled eggs from the skillet and set aside.

Step 2 – In the same skillet, add the cooked and chilled jasmine rice to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, breaking up any clumps of rice.

Step 3 – In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and white pepper. Pour the mixture over the rice and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the rice is evenly coated with the sauce and heated through.

Step 4 – Gently fold in the scrambled eggs and sliced green onions. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, or until the eggs are heated through and the green onions are slightly softened. Serve immediately warm and enjoy!

  • Type of Rice – Using cold, leftover rice helps prevent the fried rice from becoming mushy. If using freshly cooked rice, spread it out on a baking sheet and refrigerate until chilled before proceeding with the recipe.
