I’m not sure what Beef Birtia Meat is. Birria tacos are generally made with chuck roast and short ribs. If that is what you are referring to, yes, it can be used in this recipe but will need to cook much longer until the beef is tender (like 8-9 hours on low).
Can anyone tell me if Ican use Beef Birtia Meat? I went to 3 different stores and hardly any meat?
I made this in the crock pot a few weeks ago and only I changed was I used beef bone broth.. this turned out amazing!! I’m actually again tomorrow it was so good

My husband and I absolutely love this recipe!! Had if for lunch all week. Could you use chicken instead of steak and chicken broth instead of beef?
My boyfriend could not get enough next time I have to make double the amount lol!!!
I was super excited to make these, I followed the recipe exactly and cooked on low. They were very tender but there was absolutely no flavor what so ever. Disappointed because they took all day and just tasted like plain meat
I prefer for it to be defrosted first.
Does the steak have to be defrosted first
Yes you can.
Yes you can marinade it in the fridge overnight.
Could you let the meat sit in the spice mixture overnight?
Can you use chicken broth in place of beef broth?
You do not have to, but you can. I have done it both ways.
Do you sear the steak first?

For the servings & calories- are you saying it is 244 cals for 2 tacos? or 1?
I think the same amount of liquid would be fine to use with this amount of steak. Thanks!
If I’m only making a pound of steak, do I keep the same amount of liquids or cut the liquid ingredients by 1/3?
Donna – That is a typo. It’s not needed for this recipe. I have updated the post. Thank you!
Where does the 2 aT of vegetable oil go?
