Variations Ideas

  • Spices – We used a homemade steak seasoning blend for this recipe. But feel free to add what you prefer. Add in about ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, brown sugar, paprika, black pepper and cayenne pepper. This combination gives the beef so much flavor.
  • Buns – Serve this shredded beef on your favorite store bought hoagie buns. We have even made Homemade Kings Hawaiian Rolls which made the perfect roll to serve for a family gathering.
  • Cheese – Provolone cheese makes the perfect topping. But you can top with shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese.

I love making these Crock pot Shredded Beef Sandwiches and love having leftovers during the week. I also make caramelized onions on the side to put on the beef before I add the cheese. Another idea I will melt some butter and add some garlic powder, stir and brush the garlic butter ontop of sesame seed hamburger rolls and place the sandwiches in a 9x 13 casserole dish and place in the oven to melt the cheese..
