- Pasta – Cook pasta before adding to the slow cooker. I like to make the pasta ahead of time. This way it is already done when on cooking day.
- Cheese – Grate cheese from hunk cheese. We recommend to grate cheese yourself as it melts better and taste better. Pre-shredded cheese as other ingredients that are not necessary.
Chicken Parm Pasta Variations:
- Chicken – We used chicken breast in this recipe but you can use chicken thighs or chicken tenders.
- Sauce – Crushed tomatoes is always an easy choice, but feel free to use marinara sauce or spaghetti sauce jar.
- Seasoning – Italian Seasoning blend is always a delicious choice but you can always add in other seasoning. For a little extra spice add in a teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Fresh basil is also a great option.
- Pasta – Feel free to use any type of pasta of your choice or what you have on hand.
- Cheese – Mozzarella Cheese and Grated Parmesan cheese are what we used, but you can use other types of cheese. Pepper jack cheese is a great choice.
- Dutch Oven – You can may this recipe in a dutch oven if you prefer. Make sure to stir occasionally for best results. Making in the dutch oven will take about 30 minutes to cook. This is a great option to use leftover chicken.
How to Store Leftovers:
This chicken parmesan pasta is great leftover. Place the chicken pasta mixture into an air tight container and it will last up to 3 days. The ingredients really marinate together overnight, for a tasty lunch the next day.
How to Reheat:
Place the leftovers in a microwave safe dish and reheat in 1 minute intervals. This allows for the chicken pasta to heat slowly without overheating.
