Roast is a classic Sunday Night dinners that I like to make my family about every Sunday. My entire family loves it and this copycat Cracker Barrel Recipe is one of the best recipe because of the amazing flavor.

- Cook Vegetables – Add carrots and potatoes to the crock pot with the roast for a complete meal idea. This roast would also be delicious with white button mushrooms added to the slow cooker.
How to Make Cracker Barrel Roast Beef
Step 1 – Pat the roast dry and season it with the salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried oregano. Then sear roast in olive oil in a large skillet. Remove the roast from the skillet and place it in a slow cooker.
Step 2 – Add the diced onions and sauté until the onions are soft (5-7 minutes). Then transfer these ingredients to the slow cooker with the roast.
Step 3 – Pour the French onion soup and beef broth on top. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours until the roast is fork tender.
Step 4 – Remove the roast from the crock pot and shred it with 2 forks.
- Step 5 – Mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir this mixture into the juices in the crock pot. Cover and cook on high until the juices begin to thicken.
- Step 6 – Add the shredded beef back to the crock pot and stir it into the sauce to coat it with the sauce in the crock pot.
- Step 7 – Serve warm with your favorite sides and enjoy!

- Cook the Roast – You can cook this recipe on high in the crock pot but we prefer it on low as the beef is more tender.
- Sear the Roast – Before placing the roast in the slow cooker, we recommend searing the roast with salt.
- Shred the Roast – Shred the roast on a cutting board and add back to slow cooker.

Ingredients
- 3 Pounds Chuck Roast
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 Small Yellow Onion diced
- 1 can French Onion Soup
- 1 Cup Beef Broth
- 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
Instructions
