If you love our Cinnamon Roll Cake Recipe then you are going to love these muffins. These muffins start with a homemade muffin batter and then a mixture of cinnamon sugar is swirled in to create the cinnamon roll flavors.

I love to make these delicious muffins for a quick breakfast or after school snack. The simple pantry ingredients makes these muffins budget friendly and perfect for any occasion.

The best part of this recipe is there is no yeast involved. This muffin will take care of your cinnamon roll craving without a lot of work. Make sure to top with the homemade glaze for even more flavor.

Ingredients 

Flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, butter, egg, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, powdered sugar, vanilla

Variations Ideas

  • Toppings – We love to add a glaze to these muffins. You can easily make this Cream Cheese Frosting or Cream Cheese Glaze for an easy substitute.
  • Chopped Nuts – To add a crunchy texture to the muffins mix in chopped pecans or walnuts to the batter.

Step by Step Instructions 

  • Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a muffin tin with muffin liners.

Step 2 – In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and granulated sugar.

Step 3 – In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg and milk.

Step 4 – Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined in a large bowl.  Be careful not to over mix the batter.

Step 5 – In a small bowl, stir together the filling/topping ingredients.  Stir half of this mixture into the batter.

Step 6 – Place approximately ¼ cup of the batter into each muffin.

Step 7 – Sprinkle the remaining topping mixture on top. 

  • Step 8 – Bake the muffins for 12-15 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of the muffin comes out clean. 
  • Step 9 – Let the muffins cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. 
  • Step 10 – Mix together the glaze ingredients.  Drizzle the glaze over the top of the muffins and then they are ready to serve and enjoy! 

Recipe Tips  

  • Flour – Before adding in the flour, make sure to use a measuring cup so you add in the right amount. If you do not add the right amount it could make the muffins to dry.
  • Combining Ingredients – Do no over mix the batter. This could change the texture of the muffins.
  • Baking Time – Cooking time may vary depending on your oven and the size of your muffins. We recommend using a cookie scoop to divide the batter into the muffin pan.
