Variations Ideas:

  • Spices – If you love pumpkin, add a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice to the glaze mixture. It is delicious addition and is the perfect hint of pumpkin flavor.
  • Add Nuts – Adding nuts is a perfect addition to this cinnamon roll dough. We suggest chopped pecans, walnuts, or sliced almonds.

Step 6 – Pour half of the brown sugar and butter mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces in the bundt pan. Arrange the rest of the cinnamon roll pieces into the bundt pan. Then pour the remaining butter and brown sugar mixture on top.

  • Step 7 – Bake for 35-40 minutes or golden brown and the center is no longer doughy.
  • Step 8 – Then let the pan set for 5-10 minutes and then carefully invert onto a pan to serve.
  • Step 9 – Drizzle the icing from the icing packets on top. Serve warm and enjoy.

Recipe Tips:

  • Prepare Bundt Pan – To easily serve the monkey bread and for easy clean up, make sure to grease the pan. You want to make sure the sides and the center are completely covered with the cooking spray.
  • Cutting the Cinnamon Roll Dough – We recommend to try and cut the pieces about the same size. This helps to evenly cook the cinnamon rolls without burning them.
  • Layer the Dough – To completely cover the cinnamon rolls in the glaze, we recommend layering the dough.
  • Cooking Time – Cooking time will vary depending on your oven. You want to make sure the center is no longer doughy.
  • Rest Monkey Bread After taking the monkey bread out of the oven, allow it to rest.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How Do I Know When it is Done:

The best way to tell if your monkey bread is finished cooking is if the top is golden brown. I usually check the bread after cooking for about 30 minutes.

How to Store and Reheat:

Store the leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.  Reheat the leftovers for 20-30 seconds to make them warm and gooey again.

Can I Freeze?

We do not recommend freezing the monkey bread. Because of the sugar mixture, the bread can become soggy when thawing out.
