How to Make Chick-Fil-A Biscuits at Home

  • Step 1 – Prepare Oven – Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. 
  • Step 2 – Combine Dry Ingredients – In a large food processor, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Step 2 – Add in Cubed Butter – Then add in the cold cubed butter. Pulse until all the ingredients are combined.

Step 3 – Mix in Buttermilk and Honey – Then pour the mixture into a large bowl.  Create a well in the center of the mixture and add in the buttermilk and honey.  Stir together with a spatula until a dough is formed (do not over mix). 

  • Step 4 – Prepare Surface – Flour a working surface and knead the dough a few times on that surface. 
  • Step 5 – Roll out dough – Then roll out the dough to a 1 inch thick rectangle.

Step 6 – Cut the Biscuits – Then cut out the biscuits with a biscuit cutter or a flour round glass. Then place the biscuits on the sheet so that they are not touching.

Step 7 – Bake Biscuits – Bake for 8-10 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through. 

  • Step 8 – Serve and Enjoy – Brush the melted butter on top and then they are ready to serve and enjoy.

Expert Tips

  • Combining Ingredients – Combine the flour mixture and wet ingredients until combine. Make sure not to overmix the biscuit dough.
  • Cutting Biscuits – If you do not have a biscuit cutter, you can also use a glass to cut the biscuits. For best results, try to make the biscuits about the same size. This allows them to cook about the same time.
  • Cooking Time – Baking time will vary depending on the size of your biscuits and your oven.
  • Unsalted Butter – Before mixing in the butter slices, you want the butter to be cold. I like to put in the freezer for an hour for best results.
