You will love this Balsamic Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin Recipe. It tastes amazing and people will think you spent a ton of time making it. It is a perfect meal anytime of the week.
Instant Pot Balsamic Pork Tenderloin Recipe:
We love having pork at our house. Pork Tenderloin is one of our favorites and we have it about 2-3 times a month. Sometimes we have a hard time making it because it comes out dry. We make sure not to overcook it to prevent this.
But then we started making it in the Instant Pot. The pork comes out so tender and full of flavor that it is the only way we cook it now.
The balsamic glaze really makes this tenderloin so don’t even think about skipping it! The tangy vinegar, sweet brown sugar and splash of soy sauce come together for a glaze that is simply out of this world!
Perfect Weeknight Dinner!
We love using our Pressure Cooker. Using this cooking method has been a game changer for our family to get dinner on the table quickly. This recipe is perfect for the instant pot. Pressure Cooking cooks quickly and the meat comes out perfectly.
If you need an instant pot, Amazon has several on sale here. I absolutely love mine. I have the larger one and it’s perfect.
If you only have a slow cooker, you can make Crock Pot Balsamic Pork Tenderloin and it still taste amazing. You will come home and your house will smell amazing.
Can I use a Pork Loin instead?
Yes you can. We have used a pork loin before and it turned perfectly. It is bigger in size and has more fat. But you can cook it the same way.
You can also put a pork loin in the oven or in the slow cooker. Using any of these cookers gives you the same great flavor.
Ingredients:
- Pork tenderloin
- Brown sugar
- Balsamic vinegar
- Soy sauce
- Water – You can also use chicken broth.
- Corn starch
- Salt and Pepper
How to make Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin:
- Place pork tenderloin in the instant pot.
- Whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, water, cornstarch and salt and pepper in a small mixing bowl. *You can also add in a little garlic powder if you prefer.
- Pour this mixture over the top of the pork tenderloin in the instant pot.
- Add the lid and set to sealing.
- Press the manual button and set the pressure to 12 minutes (based on the size of your pork tenderloin).
- Once the cooking cycle is done, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes before quick releasing the steam.
- Remove the the pork tenderloin from the instant pot. Let it rest for about 10 minutes. Then you can slice and serve.
- Brush or drizzle the pork tenderloin with the sauce from the instant pot and serve immediately.
How long to cook Pork Tenderloin in the Instant Pot:
Cooking times will vary based on the size of pork tenderloin that you are cooking. But I usually set the timer to around 12 minutes and then do natural release for 10 minutes.
You want to make sure that the internal cooking temperature reaches to about 145 degrees on the thickest part. Then I would allow to rest for about 5 minutes before slicing so that it holds the juices in.
How do you make Balsamic Pork Tenderloin in the oven:
Until we started using the instant pot on a regular basis, I would always cook my tenderloin in the oven. I would prepare my glaze indicated.
Then I would preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Then place in the oven that is covered in foil for about 18-20 minutes.
Then make sure that the pork tenderloin reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees before slicing.
Is your Pork Tenderloin frozen?
The pork I used in this recipe was defrost.
If you pork tenderloin is frozen, no worries. That is one of the main things I love about the instant pot is that you can place your frozen meat in the instant pot and cook.
You will need to increase your time to about 10 minutes per pound if you are using a frozen pork tenderloin.
What do you serve with Pork Tenderloin?
Pork Tenderloin can be served with steamed broccoli or mashed potatoes. Carrots, Cauliflower or a nice big salad would pair nicely with this Balsamic Pork Tenderloin. Macaroni and cheese or garlic mashed potatoes are some of my favorites.
I always make sure we have a slice of garlic bread or a dinner roll.
Recipes Tips:
- Make sure you let the pork tenderloin rest after cooking for about 10-15 minutes. This will make it extra juicy and flavorful.
- Have a meat thermometer to ensure your pork tenderloin is done. I like to use this anytime I cook meat.
- The balsamic glaze can be used on different cuts of pork such as roast and loin. You can also use it for other meats like chicken or steak.
- Some people use olive oil to brown the pork prior to putting in the instant pot. But I have done both ways, and I usually just put it in the instant pot without browning it to save time.
How to store leftovers:
Storing your leftovers is very easy to do. You can store in the refrigerate up to 4 days. Be sure to put in airtight container.
How to Freeze Pork Tenderloin
You can also freeze your leftover pork tenderloin. Be sure that it has cooled completely and then place in a freezer safe container for up to 3 months.
Once you are ready to heat up, thaw the meat and heat in the oven.
We also like to make individual lunches for us. We love this Balsamic Pork Tenderloin leftover. The balsamic glaze marinates in the meat overnight which enhances the flavor.

This recipe is delicious!! It will definitely will be a regular meal in our house! Thank you for sharing! ?
Is it possible to use red wine vinegar rather than balsamic vinegar for pork tenderloin in the instant pot?
Thank you so much!
Wonder recipe, family loved it!
This was delicious and I will make again. I had a 3 pound shoulder and pressure cooked for 56 minutes. Thanks for the recipe.
Yes, definitely!
This is a lot of food for 2 people. Could I freeze the 2nd tenderloin?
You’re welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed the recipe.
This was so easy! I would have used less water in the recipe but I saw your suggestion to add the cornstarch slurry to the liquid in the pot. Thank you!
Hi Kimberly, the sauce was made from the ingredients that are now being added to the Instant pot. Just don’t add them in the instant pot and heat them in a sauce pan to create the sauce and just add the water only with the tenderloin in the instant pot.
Can I have the old recipe back? My family loved it with the sauce separate and I could make the sauce for other things that way as well.
Holly – Sorry about the confusion. We are updating this recipe and we now cook the sauce in the instant pot as we like that better! Thank you!
Blog says to make sauce separately and recipe says to put ininstapot? Please clarify. Thanks!
This was a great and simple meat recipe to make!! Love those type!! The sauce totally brought it to greatness!! Thinking I might use that sauce recipe on other dishes as well. The pork was very tender also. I will be fixing this again for sure!! Thanks for the recipe!!

Do you trim the fat before cooking?
Great to hear – Thanks for sharing!
I used this recipe with Venison Loin and substituted the water for beef broth and it was amazing! ?
Yes, it would be the same. Thank you!
Tenderloin will not fit lengthwise in my 6 qt IP. If I cut it in half, will the cooking time remain the same? Thanks!
I use the pork tenderloins in this recipe. I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
I’m double checking: You are calling this a pork tenderloin. They usually run 1-2 lbs each. Or are you using a pork loin which usually runs 3-4 lbs? I just want to make sure to get the right cut. Thanks!
We had this for lunch today and it was pure perfection. Thanks for sharing.
Can you 1/2 this recipe?? If so, do I use 1/2 the water and cut the cooking time to 10 mins?
I use High
Do you brown the tenderloin first?
Should the pressure level be high or low? My IP has both of these options.
Yes you can – I would just double the cooking time. thanks!
Can you do this with a frozen pork loin?
Would you be able to substitute pork tenderloin with boneless pork chops?
Excellent sauce! Thanks!
Does the weight matter on the tenderloin?
I actually have a recipe on how to do that here – https://www.eatingonadime.com/balsamic-pork-tenderloin-crock-pot-recipe/
Can this be made in a slow cooker?
I’m not usually a fan of pork loin…but because I’ve loved every meal that I’ve made in my instant pot, I decided to give your recipe a whirl. We had it tonight…….and it was wonderful! I really think it’s the glaze that put this one into the win category. Thank you! I can now put pork loin back on my list 🙂
I put it on the bottom of the Instant pot.
Do you put the pork on the instant pot rack or just on bottom of pot.
