  • Step 8 – Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F) and the onions are tender. We recommend using an instant read thermometer to check internal temperature.

Recipe Tips

  • Rest Pork Chops – Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes after baking to allow the juices to redistribute, resulting in juicier and more flavorful meat.
  • Change the Onions – If you prefer a stronger onion flavor, you can use red onions instead of yellow or white onions.
  • Cooking Time – When cooking pork chops, make sure to use a meat thermometer to ensure that the pork chops are fully cooked.
  • Skillet – We recommend using a cast iron skillet to make this recipe. You can sear the pork chops in this skillet on the stove top and then transfer to the oven to bake. But you can also use a baking dish when baking the pork chops in the oven.
