How to Make Baked Butternut Squash

  • Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2 – Peel the butternut squash. Cut the squash in half and remove the seeds.  Dice the butternut squash into bite size pieces (approximately 1 inch pieces).

Step 5 – Bake for 30-35 minutes until the squash is tender and the outside edges start to brown slightly.  Toss the squash halfway through the cooking time to ensure that they cook evenly.

This winter squash is very large so it is important to have the right tools handy before trying to cut it.

  • We recommend peeling the squash with a vegetable peeler around all sides.
  • Cut the squash down the middle lengthwise to open up the squash. Then remove with the seeds and stringy insides to prepare for cutting.

Freezing cooked butternut squash is just as easy and follow the steps but make sure the roasted butternut squash has cooled before placing in the freezer bag.
