Variations Ideas

  • Milk – Feel free to use different types of milk depending on your diet restrictions. You can use soy milk, coconut milk, or regular milk.
  • Fresh Berries – We love to use different types of fruit when making a protein shake. We have used blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, bananas, pineapple and mango.
  • Veggies – Feel free to add in veggies such as spinach or kale for a more healthier option.
  • Sweetener – If you need to make it sweeter, add in honey, stevia, or maple syrup. Vanilla extract can be added for added flavor.

Placing the ingredients in the blender
  • Step 2 – Combine all the ingredients into a blender and blend on high until smooth. It may take two tries to get it perfectly smooth, but this is delicious and a nice change to a regular protein shake.

Recipe Tips

  • Combining Ingredients – Feel free to layer the ingredients in the blender at one time.
  • Adding Ice – Ice creates a thicker texture when making a smoothie. It will depend how thick your ice is on how well it blends. You may need to add more ice or more liquid depending on the consistency of the smoothie.
  • Blender – Having a good blender is a must to make sure the ingredients are blended evenly. We recommend using a Vitamix Blender for best results.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to Store Leftovers

I usually eat it right away while it’s still cold but they usually don’t last long because it’s packed with flavor. Store in the freezer and then thaw to enjoy.

Can I Make Ahead of Time?

We recommend preparing protein shake when ready to serve. You can prepare protein packets by placing the ingredients except the liquid and placing in a ziplock freeze bag. Then when ready to serve, place in the blender with liquid and blend. You may not need a lot of ice if you freeze smoothie packet.

Lisa – I usually use the plain greek yogurt as it has less added sugar. I start with 1/2 cup of it and then you can always add in more if needed.

  4. Lisa says:

If using Greek yogurt how much would you use? And would it be plain or a flavored like vanilla or possibly strawberry

  5. Nicole says:

This looks awesome! Is the cheesecake powder a pudding mix? Or the dessert that you make in a pie plate?
