Additions and Variations Ideas
- Greek Yogurt – I like to sneak in Greek yogurt in my kids for extra boost of protein. You can easily swap out ½ to 1 cup of milk for ½ to 1 cup of greek yogurt.
- Add-Ins – You can also add ground flax seeds, chia seeds or even protein powder to the smoothies. Other additions, cinnamon, and honey. I usually start with about a teaspoon but you can more if you prefer.
- Cocoa Powder – For a chocolate taste, add in cocoa powder and maple syrup.
- Smoothie Bowl – You can also serve this creamy peanut butter banana smoothie in a bowl with your favorite toppings. We like to add sliced banana, oats and chocolate chips.

Expert Tips
- Blender Recommendation – Smoothies are best made with a good blender. If you are in the market for a new blender, check out The 6 Best Blenders Under $100 of 2024. I have a Vitamix and I love it. It is old and is still going on strong. It is quite the investment to get one, but it is one investment that won’t disappoint.
- Smoothie Consistency – If using frozen bananas, then you may need to use less ice. If you find that your smoothie is to thick, then slowly add in more milk. I usually have a little more while I blending my smoothie.
