Oh I love that idea! Thank you for commenting.
I loved the soup. I used pieces of beef instead of ground beef and only 1 can of diced tomatoes.
Yes, you can – I hope you enjoy this recipe!
I would put the entire can with the sauce in the crock pot.
I would like to use stewed tomatoes. Would I drain them first or just dump the whole can in there?
I was wondering if you can use vegetable broth instead of beef broth. Looks yummy!! ???
This soup is delicious! I normally cook it on the stove if I’m short on time. I often add chili powder to make it a Mexican soup. Sometimes I add both pasta AND potatoes! I love adding fresh parsley or cilantro. Also great with cheese dumplings! Yum!
Yes, you can use tomato sauce and use the same amount instead of the tomatoes in this recipe.
The soup was delicious! Everyone in my family loved this soup. I loved how easy it was to put in my crockpot. I did not have potatoes, so I used elbow macaroni. It is definitely on my repeat soup list.
Easy and delicious recipe!
Can I use something else besides chunk tomatoes like tomato paste and if so how much
Easiest and most delicious soup I have ever made! I didn’t have any potatoes and didn’t feel like going out to get them. So, I used 1 cup of shell noodles (it’s what was in my pantry!)
I’m so glad you enjoy it – Thank you for sharing!
This was absolutely delicious! It will definitely be in the normal rotation of food. So simple to make and such a comfort food! Excited for fall so we can have this more!
Yes, crushed tomatoes will work instead of the diced tomatoes and yes, use the same amount.
Very hardy soup.. My husband said, “It’s a keeper.”
I cut the veggies a little bigger, so it took longer in the crockpot.
Is there an alternative to the diced tomatoes that would maintain the flavor? Like…would crushed tomatoes work? and would you use the same amount?
Looks yummy
I made the soup a little thicker with corn starch and it was way better when the soup stuck to the veggies.. ? delicious though!
