This recipe works because of how tender the roast cooks so you can easily shred it for many different recipes. You can easily start this recipe in the morning and it is ready for dinner.

- Beef Chuck Roast
- Homemade Taco seasoning (or a Taco Seasoning packet)
- Beef Stock or low-sodium beef broth

Variations Ideas
- Seasoning – The great thing about this recipe is the many seasoning you can add to it. We love our homemade seasoning, but you can easily add in seasoning separately. Add in cayenne pepper, green chiles, chili powder, garlic powder, or cumin. We usually start with ½ tsp but you can always add in more.
- Enchiladas – One of my favorite ways to use this recipe it to make Beef Enchiladas. Add in enchilada sauce to create a delicious variations for tacos and burritos as well.
Step by Step Instructions
- Step 1 – Place your roast in the crock pot.
- Step 2 – Pour beef stock over the roast. Then top with the taco seasoning.
Step 3 – Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 5 hours.
- Step 4 – Trim off the fat and use forks to shred the slow cooking beef. Stir the beef into the juices and let it sit for about 30 minutes.
Recipe Tips
- Cooking time – Cooking time will vary based on your slow cooker and the size of your roast.
- Shredding Meat – You can easily shred the meat with two forks or learn how to shred with a mixer.
- Rest Beef – After shredding beef, place back into slow cooker to soak into the juices.

Sorry about that confusing. We also added 1/2 cup of salsa to this recipe. It’s add a ton of flavor!
I see in the photo that there is an additional 4th ingredient? May I ask what salsa you put on top of the taco seasoning??
