Oven Bake Turkey Bacon:
We love cooking turkey bacon in the oven. It saves me so much time putting it the oven instead of spending my time cooking on the stove. I place it in the oven and let the oven do all the work.
We have made the switch from pork bacon to turkey bacon. My kids actually prefer the turkey bacon over the regular bacon now. We like turkey bacon because it is lower in fat and calories.
We love bacon at our house so much. Whether we eat it for breakfast, as a snack or crumbled on favorite chicken you can’t go wrong with bacon. Bacon is good on everything.
Cooking Bacon in the oven is easy!
Growing up my mom always made pan fried bacon. I remember her getting splattered with bacon grease constantly. So I decided I would figure out how to cook bacon in the oven.
We have found that cooking bacon in the oven results in the bacon coming out crispy and delicious. I especially love that I can place it on the lined cookie sheet and put it in the oven, and it requires little attention on my part.
Cooking turkey bacon in the oven saves me so much time, as I can prepare other items while the turkey bacon is cooking. Everything gets done about the same time therefore my family is happy. Plus, there is no more splatter grease on my hands.

How long to Bake Turkey Bacon?
Watch the bacon closely the first time that you make it to make sure that you do not overcook it. I have found that different brands of turkey bacon cooks a little differently. But for the most part we bake it for about 10 minutes after it has been flipped. The cooking time could vary.
We love crispier bacon. So we tend to leave it in a little longer so it makes the perfectly crispy bacon.
Baking Turkey Bacon Tips:
- Make sure that you watch you bacon closely. Once you find the brand of turkey that you like, I will make note of how it takes to reach that level of crispness that my family loves.
- As you probably have discovered, pork bacon has a lot more fat than turkey does. To ensure that the fat removes for the bacon properly, you can put a cooling rack on top of a baking sheet and this allows the fat to drip into the baking sheet.
- Have you tried black pepper bacon? I will occasionally make some for me family by sprinkling about a teaspoon on the bacon before baking it.
- Not only is turkey bacon good with a side of eggs or your favorite breakfast item. It is great, crumbled over mashed potatoes or in a breakfast burrito.
- We also love to make Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Chicken. Everything cooks in the oven, so no need to pre-cook the bacon.
How to store leftovers:
We love having bacon leftovers. We double the batch that we are making and then let cool and keep in the refrigerator. This becomes a great snack for my kids. They can microwave for a few seconds for a quick breakfast idea.
I also place in the freezer in a ziplock freezer bag and then I can easily make Easy BBQ Bacon Chicken Dinner. It makes it so easy to pull this already cooked out of the freezer for a quick dinner.
With my large family, even when I double the batch, we rarely have any leftovers.
