- Step 3 – Bring the mixture to a low boil and heat until the mixture has thickened.
- Step 4 – All it to cool. It will continue to thicken a little more as it cools.

Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, milk, flour, poultry seasoning, garlic salt and pepper.
- Pour this mixture into a medium saucepan and heat over medium high heat.
- Continue to cook on medium heat and whisk for 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Allow it to cool (it will thicken more as it cools).
- Once cooled slightly the cream of chicken soup is ready to use and enjoy!
If he’s allergic to diary, I would recommend using a diary-free milk product instead. You do need a cream-based item with the chicken broth to make the soup creamy.
