Variations Ideas:
- Chocolate Chips – If you prefer you can use mini chocolate chips for the eyes instead of candy eyes.
- Red Candy – Instead of using Red M&Ms, you can also use red hots or any red candy. You can also use brown M&M instead of red for the reindeer nose.
- Chocolate Frosting – If you prefer you can add a thin layer of store bought chocolate frosting after cookie has cooled. Then add the decorations for the perfect holiday party cookie.
Step by Step Instructions
- Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Step 2 – In a medium size mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Step 3 – In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer or stand up mixer to combine the butter, brown sugar, peanut butter, milk and vanilla extract. Mix at medium speed until combined. Then add in egg and mix.
Step 4 – Reduce the mixer speed down to low and slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to over mix the batter.
Step 5 – Use a cookie scoop to roll the batter into approximately 2 tablespoons size balls. Then form each of the balls into triangle shapes. Then place them on a baking sheet. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes until the cookies are just set.
Step 6 – Remove the cookies and decorate them quickly while the cookies are still warm. Use the pretzels to form the antlers at the large size of the triangles on the cookies. Then use the candy eyes and red M&Ms to make the reindeer faces on each of the cookies.
Step 7 – Let the cookies sit for 5 minutes on the baking sheets.
Step 8 – Carefully transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
Step 9 – Then the cookies are ready to serve and enjoy.
Recipe Tips
- Combining Ingredients – Combine the ingredients in a large mixing bowl with a hand mixture or a stand mixer. This allows the ingredients to combine easily.
- Baking Sheet – We recommend lining the baking sheets with parchment paper for an easy clean up and serving the cookies.
- Serving – Allow the cookies to cool after decorating on a wire rack. This allows the decorations to set completely.

Are you kidding?!?! This is for every non-baker who is envious of the ones who bring all the great Christmas cookies to the party. So simple even I could do it. And thatโs saying a lot. It inspired me to get a little more sophisticated and this was the year I baked Christmas cookies from scratch. This is an outstanding confidence builder. Give it a try youโll love it. OK everybody knows you bought the Malano cookies, but theyโre so adorable nobody cared.
