Recipe Tips

  • Preparing Chicken – For the best results cut the chicken up in about the same size pieces. This allows them to cook evenly and about the same time.
  • Marinating Chicken – For the best flavor, we recommend marinating chicken for at least 20 minutes.
  • Meat Thermometer – To ensure your chicken is fully cooked, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. The temperature should reach 165 degrees.

Serving Suggestions

These grilled chicken nuggets are best served with your favorite dipping sauce. We love to dip them in honey mustard or homemade ranch. I love to serve them a side of French Fries and fruit salad for complete meal idea.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Chick Fil A marinate their chicken in?

The secret is pickle juice. Yes, pickle juice! The chicken is marinated in a brine similar to pickle juice. We are using pickle juice to make it easy and still get that same flavor. It gives the chicken that distinct flavor that also tenderizes.

How to Store Leftovers

These grilled nuggets are delicious leftover. Place the leftovers in an airtight container and store in the fridge. They will stay fresh for up to 3-4 days.

How to Reheat

We like to reheat in the air fryer for just a few minutes. But you can also reheat in the microwave or the oven.

If you don’t have pickle juice, you can just leave it out. However, the pickle juice it what make these nuggets taste just like the ones from Chick-fil-A.

This sounds amazing! I have no pickle juice, what can I substitute? Lemon/vinegar/apple cider vinegar/ pineapple juice? Or just increase the milk – which I have to use non-dairy ….. which means my chicken will taste different! Thank you x
