    My Grandmother always dissolve her sugar in 2 cups of water and heated it until the sugar totally dissolved. Then let the water cool before adding in the lemon juice.

    Chickfila’s recipe is 2 quarts lemon juice, 6 cups sugar, and 8 quarts water. (Obviously they have to make large amounts, but if you want the exact recipe thats it, just downsize it)

    Try stirring the sugar straight into the lemon juice, it helps it dissolve easier, then stir in the water.
