Why This Recipe Works
Pork tenderloin is a lean cut of meat and low carbs. It makes a delicious and healthy shredded pork recipe easily made in the slow cooker. Traditionally pork carnitas recipe is made with pork butt or a pork shoulder.
But using pork tenderloin is now my preferred way. The ingredients are simple and the shredded pork can be used in many different ways.

- Tortillas – Make our Homemade Flour Tortilla Recipe with simple ingredients.

Variations Ideas
- Change Meat – You can easily change the meat to this taco recipe. Make it with pork shoulder, pork butt, or a pork roast.
- Seasoning – The spices in this recipe can easily be changed or added to the taco seasoning. Stir in a ½ teaspoon of oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, chili powder and cumin.
- Sauces – For additional flavor, add in ½ cup of orange juice, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, or other citrus juices.
- Tortillas – Make these tacos with corn tortillas, flour tortillas or any type that fits into your diet.
How to Make Crock Pot Pork Tenderloin Tacos
Step 1 – Place the pork tenderloin in the crock pot.
Step 2 – Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the pork.
Step 3 – Pour the salsa and chicken broth over the seasoned pork.
Step 4 – Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork. Once cooked, shred the pork using two forks directly in the crock pot, mixing it with the cooking liquid.
- Step 5 – Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
- Step 6 – Assemble the tacos by placing some of the shredded pork on each tortilla.
- Step 7 – Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and sliced avocado, or your favorite taco toppings.

never thought to use slow cooker for tenderloin HMMMM ,however Shred it , uhh NO. remove from pot cut in small 3 /4ths inch chunks , Bitte size. crisp one side in a very hot skillet then make that taco. It will be awesom.
