- Bell Peppers – If you prefer your bell peppers a little more crunchy, wait to add them until about 2 hours before dinner is ready. Now if you are not picky about your peppers, you can add them in the morning like above. - Slicing Ingredients – Slice the peppers and meat about the same size so that it cooks evenly and about the same time.

Hi Carrie..Happy Memorial Day to you and your family. I’ve followed you but my first to enlist on some of your great saver recipes. I like time saving and money saving recipes as well. I’m kind of from old school of cooking but love new ideas. Thank you!
This is a great recipe. I followed the recipe almost exact, except I added 2 lbs of whole chicken breast into the pot with the sliced beef and some garlic powder. I sprinkled on the two packets of McCormickโs reduced sodium taco seasoning; 1 mild and 1 regular over the meat and rub it into the meat, then I poured the 2 cups of picante sauce over the meat. I cooked it all on high for 3 hours, then I added the sliced onion and the green and red bell peppers and let it all cook for another 45 minutes. I also added salt and black pepper to taste. It turned out really really good. There was a lot of sauce leftover from the picante, so Iโm going to use it to make tortilla soup form tomorrow nightโs dinner. The sauce is just amazing! We loved this recipe.
I’ve made this and having it today,so easy and so delicious but I also use in rice for side or put meat and peppers and onion on top of the rice ,so so good, love it.
