I used less sugar and added pickled jalapeรฑos and cheese. It was excellent. Iโ€™ll never buy packaged cornmeal again!

  2. Carol Lee says:

I am really interested in all your recipes.

  3. Brandy says:

We love cornbread. Will definitely be trying this. If I want to add corn which one do you prefer whole kernel or cream style? And when would it be added? When the egg and milk is added? Thank you ?

  4. Carrie Barnard says:

The sugar helps make it moist and adds flavor, so if this was omitted then that is why it didn’t turn out well. This is a sweet cornbread recipe.

  5. Meredith says:

I followed the steps minus the sugar. We don’t eat sweet cornbread. What did I do wrong? It is a little dense and no flavor. Cornbread should have flavor plan too.

Love how easy this is to put together and love it with chili. I have added bacon and red peppers to the mix and they are very good too.

  7. Carrie says:

Hey Robin – You can use any milk alternative in this recipe and use the same quantity as in the recipe. I would try oat milk first and see if you like that but you can also use almond milk or soy milk in this recipe as well.

  8. Robin Marks says:

Any suggestions for dairy free milk? I’m finding that I’m a sensitive to regular milk but don’t want to give up some of my favorite recipes?
