Instant Pot Chicken Ranch Tacos Recipe

Whether it is Mexican Monday or Taco Tuesday, pressure cooker ranch chicken is sure to be a hit. Plus, with only 4 ingredients needed it is a super easy meal idea.

Your family will be impressed and you will love how easy this is. It is a win for sure.

This recipe is our go to dinner idea when we need something everyone will love that only takes a few ingredients and very little time.

Top the shredded chicken with your favorite toppings and you have an amazing dinner with very little effort.

Chicken Bacon Ranch Tacos:

We love chicken ranch tacos but adding bacon takes these tacos to the next level. These tacos start with the shredded chicken with our homemade taco seasoning and then topped with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.

We then added bacon for a change with the ranch dressing seasoning mix and it was so good. Bacon is now a normal topping when make tacos.

The Instant pot I like to use

I am using an 8 quart Instant pot but you can use a 6 quart if you prefer. Since purchasing an instant pot, it truly has changed meal time around here.

I can pull together dinner in little to no time. This is so handy for those days that I donโ€™t remember to take anything out of the freezer for dinner. The instant pot to the rescue!

No worries if you donโ€™t have an instant pot yet, you can try this Crockpot Chicken Ranch Tacos in the slow cooker.

Easy to make Instant Pot Ranch Chicken tacos!

Ingredients

How to make Chicken Ranch Tacos in the Instant Pot:

  • Place chicken (frozen) in the instant pot.
  • Cover with 1 ½ cup of water, salsa, and, ranch seasoning mix, and taco seasoning.
  • Place the lid on and make sure the nob is set to sealing.
  • Click the manual button and turn it to 25 minutes and cook on high pressure.
  • Do the quick release or natural release to pressure release.
  • Remove the chicken and shred the chicken. If there is too much liquid you can drain some liquid out.
  • Return to the instant pot and stir.
  • Place chicken in taco shells or tortillas. Top with your favorite toppings.

Also, I love squeezing a fresh lime over my tacos. Sometimes, I also add a dash of olive oil to the chicken.

You can certainly use store bought taco seasoning but I prefer to make my own. It is so easy to make Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix and you will have it on hand for other recipes.

Not only is it better for you but it saves a ton of money because it is so frugal!

How to shred chicken fast:

I use a hand mixer to shred the chicken faster. It is so easy and one of my best time saving kitchen tips!

If you are not shredding your chicken this way, you are missing out. It can be done in a fraction of the time by doing it by hand.

Plus, I love the texture of the chicken when you use the hand mixer.

These are our favorite toppings when making these tacos.

  • Sour Cream
  • Salsa
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Onion
  • Fresh Lime Juice
  • The options are endless on what to add to your tacos.

What to serve Chicken Ranch Tacos:

  • Spanish rice  (Just take from the freezer for busy nights and reheat. )

And if all else fails and it’s a crazy day, just open a jar of salsa and a bag of tortilla chips and call it a day!

How to store leftovers:

These chicken ranch tacos are great leftovers. Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use the leftover chicken taco meat for lunch the next day or a different meal the next day.

You can use it to make a salad or quesadilla’s.

    25 minutes for thawed chicken? That sounds like too long? Most other recipes for chicken on the instant pot say 8-12 minutes.. can anyone tell me if this cooking time is correct please? I will be using more chicken anyways , but im worries im going to dry it out! Send help ?

    So so tasty! I decreased the water to 1 cup and next time Iโ€™m going to decrease to 1/2 cup. The squeeze of lime was a great addition!
