We love making homemade bread for breakfast, brunch or an after school snack. The peanut butter bread is made with simple pantry ingredients and all you need is one large mixing bowl to whisk everything together.

Ingredients

Ingredients - flour, sugar, egg, baking powder, salt, milk, peanut butter
  • All Purpose Flour – You can also make this with gluten free flour.
  • Granulated Sugar – This gives the bread the perfect amount of sweetness
  • Egg – We recommend room temperature.
  • Baking Powder and Salt – Basic pantry ingredients needed
  • Fat Free Milk – Use any type of milk that you prefer
  • Creamy Peanut Butter – We recommend using regular creamy peanut butter instead of natural peanut butter.

Additions Ideas

  • Chopped Nuts – Add in ½ cup of chopped pecans, walnuts or slice almonds to the batter before baking. You can even add a handful on top for added flavor.
  • Chocolate Chips – Chocolate and peanut butter make the perfect combination. Add in ½ of cup of milk chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips for a delicious variations.

How to Make Peanut Butter Bread 

  • Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 9X5 inch loaf pan with a non-stick cooking spray.  
  • Step 2 – In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

  • Step 3 – Add in the egg, milk and peanut butter and blend with a hand held mixer until combined and smooth.

  • Step 4 – Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

  • Step 5 – Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean. 
  • Step 6 – Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then turn the bread out onto a wire rack to cool completely.  
  • Step 7 – Once the bread has cooled, it’s ready to slice, serve and enjoy!

  • Loaf Pan – To easily remove the bread from the pan, line with parchment paper. Leave a little out on the edges so you can remove the bread to easily slice.

Yes, you can freeze peanut butter bread. I like to freeze in individual slices this way I can take out a few slices at a time. Freeze slices on a baking sheet for about an hour then wrap in plastic wrap and foil. Store in a freezer safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw on the counter when you are ready for a slice.
