Recipe Tips

  • Prepare Pan – I also like to use parchment paper when I bake these butterscotch bars. It helps make clean up easy. This recipe is perfect in a 9×13 baking dish. The ones with the lid are really handy if you are taking this dish somewhere.
  • Cooling Bars – If you don’t have a wire rack, they are so handy to help cool the bars completely if you plan to take them out and then cut them.
  • Combining Ingredients – Combine the ingredients in a large bowl until mix together. We recommend not overmixing so this sweet treat remains with a soft texture and chewy.

We recommend lining the baking pan with parchment paper so you can easily remove the cookie bars from the pan. Allow the cookie bars to cool slightly then place on a cutting board.

Cut the bars with a sharp knife into small or large squares. These dessert bars are rich and delicious and so we like to cut into small squares to easily serve.

    Carrie,
I found a really easy cake mix cookie bar recipe recently. Its a yellow cake mix, 5 tbsp of melted butter, 2 eggs beaten, and 2 cups of chocolate chips, m&m’s or probably any candy. Mix all together, put in 9×13 pan at 350 for 20 minutes. They are easy and yummy!!!
