- Piping Bag – We like to use a piping bag to use to decorate the cupcakes. You can also use a ziplock bag to pipe the frosting.
- Cool Cupcakes – Make sure to cool the cupcakes before adding the frosting.
- Light and Fluffy – For the best results, we recommend beating the butter and sugar together for about 30 seconds.
- Room Temperature Ingredients – We recommend that the egg whites are at room temperature before mixing with other ingredients.
- Frosting – Beat the frosting until stiff peaks form on low speed.
Can you Freeze Cupcakes?
If you like to plan ahead you can easily freeze the cupcakes. We recommend freezing them without the icing because it is easier.
- Place the cupcakes inside a freezer container and freeze up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight when ready to use and decorate as normal.
- If you freeze the cupcakes with icing, it is best to flash freeze them. Freeze on a baking sheet for 1 to 2 hours. This will harden the frosting so it does not get messed up in the container.
Then transfer the cupcakes to a freezer container and freeze as normal.
How to Store Cupcakes
Store the leftover cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. You can refrigerate the cupcakes for up to 1 week.
